Kitchen projects, planned around daily use

Some kitchens need a full renovation. Others need a focused update: cabinets that store what you actually own, counters with a real place to prep, and finishes that fit the rest of the house.

We start with the room you have. Layout, storage, appliances, and how people move through the space all affect what is worth changing. The goal is a kitchen that is easier to cook in and easier to live with, without turning the project into something larger than it needs to be.

If you are also considering a bathroom, we can talk through both during the same visit. See bathroom remodeling.

Common kitchen project elements

A typical kitchen scope may include some or all of the following. We confirm what belongs in your project after seeing the space.

  • Layout and storage planning
  • Cabinet installation
  • Countertops, sinks, and hardware
  • Tile backsplashes
  • Flooring
  • Drywall repair related to the remodel
  • Interior paint tied to the renovation
  • Trim and finish carpentry

Start with a design board, then book a complimentary design consultation—so products and installation match the kitchen you actually want.

Cabinet installation

Cabinets affect storage, the look of the room, and how the rest of the kitchen is sequenced. Review style, finish, and layout before installation is scheduled.

These are finish samples, not photographs of completed Highline projects. They are a starting point for the conversation. Pick a door and a color on your design board.

How the rest of the kitchen comes together

The visible parts of a kitchen have to be planned together. A countertop choice affects the backsplash. New cabinets can change what the walls and trim need. Flooring has to meet the rooms around the kitchen.

Drywall repair, interior paint, and trim belong in the plan when they're part of the renovation—not left as an afterthought.

Material decisions happen before work begins, using real samples where they matter. If a selection changes the budget or the scope, decide that before anything is ordered.

What the consultation covers

  • A walkthrough of the existing kitchen
  • How you cook, store, and gather in the room
  • What you want to change, and what can stay
  • Cabinet, counter, tile, and flooring directions worth considering
  • A practical scope and the decisions that affect it
  • Next steps, if the project is a good fit

There is no obligation to move forward after the visit. Sharing a few photos ahead of time is helpful, and not required.

Kitchen remodeling questions

Do I need a finished design before we meet?

No. It helps to know what frustrates you about the kitchen and any finishes you already like. We can narrow layout and materials during planning.

Can you update a kitchen without moving the layout?

Often, yes. New cabinets, counters, backsplash, flooring, and paint can improve the room without moving walls. If the layout itself is the problem, we'll say so.

Who handles plumbing and electrical work?

It depends on the scope. New fixtures, moved outlets, or a shower valve usually need that work. When you remodel with Highline, what's needed is folded into the plan after the design consultation.

Will we be able to use the kitchen during the project?

A kitchen remodel affects daily routines, especially once cabinets or counters come out. We talk through what will be out of use and keep you posted as the work moves. The amount of disruption depends on the scope.

Which areas do you serve?

North Atlanta communities including Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Cumming, Suwanee, Duluth, Peachtree Corners, and East Cobb. See service areas.
